A dental implant is a replacement for a broken or missing tooth. Dental implants are secured in the jawbone and are not visible once placed.

Implants are used to secure crowns, bridgework or dentures by a variety of means. They are made of titanium, which is lightweight, strong and biocompatible, which means that it is not rejected by the body.

Titanium’s special property of fusing to bone is the biological basis of dental implant success.

When teeth are lost, the bone that supported those teeth is lost too. A dental implant stabilizes the bone, preventing its loss. Along with replacing lost teeth, implants can help maintain the jawbone’s shape and density. This means they also support the facial skeleton and, indirectly, the soft tissue structures — gum tissues, cheeks and lips.

Modern cosmetic restorations like dental implants, crowns, and bridges look and feel just like your own natural teeth. All result in improved appearance and oral health. How? Crowns preserve compromised teeth, and combined with bridges, they prevent teeth from drifting. Implants also prevent drifting and preserve bone density. All three procedures are directly responsible for improved self-confidence…which will, of course, keep you smiling!

Today we not only communicate with our smiles, smiles are an expression of ourselves. With a simple smile we can make someone else happy.

My purpose is to give and your family a smile that lasts a lifetime. Our friendly, caring staff are dedicated to giving you the best treatment possible. We pride ourselves on informing you on exactly what you need in order to achieve that perfect smile. We provide patient education so that you understand why the work we suggest is being done. We focus on quality care at an affordable price. We listen to your needs and explain your options clearly.

We are committed to preventative care and making your visit a pleasant one. We want to help you achieve a beautiful smile and a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums. It's easier than you think.

An exam, x-rays and pictures of your mouth can tell us everything we need to know. Then we work out a step by step by step plan to get your teeth and gums into the best shape and health possible.

Your smile is often the first thing people notice about you. A bright white smile can make a person feel more attractive, confident and younger.

Teeth become stained for several reasons, tobacco use, coffee, tea and many other foods can leave ugly stains, discolor and dull your teeth. Regular brushing and flossing can not always remove these stains and no one wants to have a dull and lackluster smile.

At Bainbridge Dental Associates we are currently offering a Free Whitening Consultation. We provide both in-office and at-home teeth whitening procedures and with this in-depth consultation we will find the teeth whitening procedure that is the best fit for you.

One of the wonderful things about dentistry is that EVERYONE can have a winning smile. Since everyone deserves a smile that they are proud of, that is good news!

The first destroyer of a smile is a silent, painless killer called gum disease. Surprisingly enough, 75% of people have it, do not feel it and are unaware that they have it at all. Whenever you as a new dental patient go to a dental office, make sure that the office tells you what your gum numbers are since without a good foundation of bone and gums (mouth skin), no smile can last for a lifetime. Teeth are a body part that should last as long as fingers and toes. It is worth noting that gum disease can be treated without surgery today – which was not possible in the past. Healthy gum numbers are 1mm – 3mm spaces between the gum and around each tooth. Larger numbers of 4mms and above need to be managed to keep a healthy, lasting smile. Ask your dentist what your gum numbers are.

When arriving at a new dental office, after it is established that the foundation of your teeth is good, then a plan for a dynamite smile can be developed. It is a good idea to have starting study models taken of your teeth so that you and the dentist can talk about what you like and dislike about your present smile. Facial photos are also helpful for planning purposes. A computer can then generate the future smile on your face that so that you can see ahead what you will look like.

Plaque is a soft thin film your may feel on your teeth, is a natural biofilm with its own ecosystem of bacterial environments. If this film is allowed to build up, it hardens into calculus (or tartar) which can cause gum inflammation and bleeding. Calculus can damage the natural seal formed by your gums against the migration of oral bacterial into your bloodstream. The earliest and most common stage of gum disease is called gingivitis. As it progresses, it is called periodontitis.

A good home care routine to prevent plaque from becoming calculus is your first line of defense. Daily plaque removal by brushing and flossing, maintaining adequate nutrition and minimizing stress, avoiding teeth grinding and clenching, and giving up tobacco can help. Getting your teeth cleaned at least every 6 months helps to prevent calculus from forming, as one it has formed only your dental team can remove it.

  • Brush to prevent the buildup of the bacterial biofilm that can contribute to cavities and harden into the tartar that causes gum disease.
  • Floss to reach below your gum line and in-between teeth where your brush can’t reach.
  • Rinse with antibacterial mouth rinse. We can recommend alcohol-free products.
  • Remineralize enamel that has weakened and become porous.
  • Maintain your regularly scheduled appointments with our Dental Hygienists.
